How to share Printer in a Network between 32-bit and 64-bit OS



Hello friends today I will show you how to share printer in a local area network (in an easy way) And I will also show you that when the computer running different OS architecture such as 32-bit and 64-bit, then how to share printer between 64-bit and 32-bit OS computer, just because if we share printer from 64-bit OS computer then it will never connect to 32-bit OS computer without 32-bit printer driver. So friends follow some steps that I am showing you bellow with pictures
Step: 1 first of all install printer on a local computer by driver CD if your computer OS is 64-bit then it will automatically install 64 bit driver

Step: 1 after installing printer, close all widow and go to start and click devices and printer (In Windows XP click on printer and faxes). Devices and printer widow will appear

Step:2  Now right click on printer and click Printer properties


Step:3 Now click on sharing Tab and check on share this printer as given in bellow picture



Hear you can change the sharing name How to share or keep it as default Name 

Step:4 Now click on additional driver, now additional driver dialog box will appear,  in this box check on 64 bit (note: If we install 32-bit printer driver on our Machine then by default, 32 bit is checked) When we check on 64 bit and click on Ok button then it will search for driver




Step:5 Now click on Brows Button and search for 64 bit. INf file in CD, in my case I am going to share Canon LBP 2900 and its INF file name is CNAB4STD

So I select CNAB4STD file and click Open and then click OK

Step:6 And now click APPLY and OK. The printer sharing process is completed now close all window. Now you can access this printer from other computer in a same network 

Now Add this printer shared to other Computers via network

Step:1 For  add shared printer on other computer, go to that computer which you want to connect this printer


Step:2 Open RUN (windows + R) In this Run Box Type \\computername  (as given in bellow image) and hit Enter Key 




(Note: Ensure that both computers firewall should be disabled or off otherwise it can’t connect to client computer ) 

Step:3 When you hit enter key, then following window will open, here you can see canon LBP2900 printer is showing,now double click on printer (Canon LBP 2900) to install this on this PC.After installing printer, 





close all window and

go to start >Devices and printer hear you can see that printer is installed on this computer. Now you can print on that printer



( Note: when you double click on printer to connect shared printer. Some time it will asking for printer driver, in this situation you need to printer driver CD. 

After  inserting Printer driver CD and agiain double click on printer and then oit will asking for driver  then click have a disk and click on browse button and select INF file for 32/64 bit driver whatever its requirement it will install driver and connect with shared printer,  now you can test the printer)
