Top useful Run Commands for widows  you should know

(window + R)

%temp% , Temp, Prefetch, Recent
That are the four commands, used for system tuning (increasing system performance) just clean temporary files, recent shortcuts, prefetch etc.

Run> %temp%
Run> prefetch
Run> recent
Run> temp

CMD                     -   
To Open command prompt. Type in Run “cmd” this will open command prompt.
D:  (Drive:)                         
You can direct open any drive of your system by run command without opening my computer. To open any drive, go to the run command and type which drive you want to access like C, D, E whatever, just type drive later (C, D, E) with colon (:), for example I want to open D drive than I will type, d: 
Run> c: / d: / c:

DOCUMENTS     
You can open My document folder by typing “documents” in run command.

DOWNLOADS    
Open download folder, in run type “downloads”, this will open download folder directly, without going long steps.
  
LOGOFF
The logoff command is used for logoff your computer.  your files and programs are stay opened, but computer will logoff so that any one can’t access your open files and programs.  So in run command you have to type “logoff

SHUTDOWN –S
This command is used for shutdown computer via command line. This command will display the warning message “computer will shut down after 10 second” that shutdown process will begin.  

Type in Run: - shutdown –s 

SHUTDOWN –R
The shutdown –r command is used to restart the PC using command line. When we type shutdown –r in run command and hit enter key then computer will reboot after 10 second warning message.  Run>shutdown –r

SHUTDOWN –S –T 3600
The command “shutdown –s –t time” used for shutdown computer automatically after specific time. You can set the computer shutdown timer by run this command. In this command you have to specify the time in “Seconds” means if you want that your computer will shut down automatically after 1 hour. Than you have to specify the time in "seconds". there are 3600 seconds in 60 min.

just open run command and type “shutdown –s –t 3600
(1 hour) 60 min X 60 = 3600 seconds,
(2 hour) 120 min X 60 = 7200   

MSINFO32  
This command will display the full information of computer system. System information like, in run Type“msinfo32

Hardware   – Memory, CPU, HarDisk, Motherboard  
Component - Input/output com, Disk drive and multimedia etc.          
Software information – Operating system etc.

MSCONFIG
Display system configuration setting. – General setting, boot setting, services start/stop, Type “msconfig” in run and hit enter
TASKMGR
Open task manager via this command. Type “taskmgr” in run and hit enter.

APPWIZ.CPL
This command will display the list of installed software in the computer. This is a shortcut key word to open add or remove program/program and features.

Run> appwiz.cpl

CALC
Shortcut key word to open windows inbuilt calculator. Just type “calc” in Run

CLEANMGR
This command will open disk cleanup wizard. Disk cleanup will kill temp file and internet browsing cache. In run type “cleanmgr” and hit enter.  

CONTROL
When need to open control penal, we simply go to start and click control panel/setting. You can open control panel using run command. Type “control” in run and hit enter key, this will open control panel.

NCPA.CPL
This command will display network connections settings (Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Network Connections) go directly to network adapter setting (IP address etc.)  type “ncpa.cpl” in run and hit enter key.

REGEDIT
Simply this command will display registry editor. In run type “regedit” and hit enter key.

MSTSC
What will you do when you want to open remote desktop, just you go to start and find for remote desktop option. Here is a shortcut keyword to to open remote desktop that is “mstsc”. In run type “mstsc”. This command will display remote desktop popup.

Access shared folder in a network, suppose in a network there is computer named “tech” and there is a shared folder on this computer. You can access this shared folder by using “computer name”. in run type “\\tech” this will open all shared folders of “tech” computer.

OSK
Open virtual key board on screen. Some type we need screen keyboard or virtual keyboard, The OSK command will open virtual keyboard on screen so that you can type using mouse. Simply type “osk” in run and hit enter.

DISKMGMT.MSC
Open disk management tool by using DISKMGMT.MSC command, in run type “diskmgmt”
